Washington Square offers 32 two-bedroom apartments that are Energy Star rated and designed to enable active living for seniors with limited mobility. All apartments rent below the Fair Market Rate and four units are earmarked for individuals with disabilities. Amenities include a large community room with fireplace, two laundry rooms, an exercise room with state of the art equipment and a library/computer room.
A special service to the residents of Washington Square is our Growing Stronger Heath & Wellness Program. The program was funded in full through a grant from Summit Endowment so there is no cost to our residents for this beneficial program.
Recognizing that good health involves many factors outside the scope of community hospitals, Summit Health established Summit Endowment in 1998. The Endowment provides grants to non-profit organizations for collaborative, outcome-focused projects that address health issues affecting their residents. The Growing Stronger program at Washington Square was designed to improve the health of the residents who are diabetic or who have other chronic diseases, and to help prevent the other residents from developing these diseases through education, exercise and good nutrition.

IHA provides supportive services for the families and seniors in the communities we serve to improve and sustain their quality of life and economic stability. In addition to providing direct services, IHA works closely with community partners that provide additional resources such as education, employment opportunities and training, child care, health care and other services based on the individual needs of our residents.
